Welcome!

THE NEW ENGLAND MISSION TEAM

VISION: From Blessing to Building

The vision of the New England Mission Team (NEMT) is to:

Open the door of ministry and missions to believers; to equip and release them into the harvest fields both in New England and the nations of the world.

To proclaim the good news of King Jesus in regions where the gospel is not flourishing.

To plant new churches and Kingdom expressions of the body of Christ.

To equip believers to grow into the fullness of the statue of Christ and share him effectively to their generation.

To form, raise, serve and equip leaders who will make disciples of all nations.

HOW WILL THIS TEAM FUNCTION?

The team will serve this vision in the following ways:

Regular mission trips within the New England area providing the opportunity to serve and minster in local churches.

Working on the church planting program in New England.

Participating in local “Resource Days” designed to empower, enable and equip believers in their callings.

Participation in foreign mission trips. Our current vision is to hold two larger mission trips to Europe each year comprising of a conference and mentoring. We will also open up the possibility of smaller team trips to Europe throughout the year.

Teach and train as part of GJM’s Ministry School.

HOW THE TEAM WILL FUNCTION

The NEMT will hold regular meetings for team building and strategy planning both in person and via Zoom. There will also be a team chat via smartphone.

ROLES WITHIN THE TEAM

Our vision is to create a team that will function and flow together as one. Within this dynamic we envisage place for individuals to fulfill specific roles and ministries including:

Preaching/Teaching
Team leader
Leading worship
Worship team member
Prophetic
Evangelism
Church planting
Practical Service
Social Media and video/audio ministry

FINANCHIAL SUPPORT

We will make a bursary available to help support those committed members of our local churches towards the cost of international trips.

REQUIREMENTS

LOCAL CHURCH COMMITMENTS

We require that each team member be a committed part of a local Spirit-filled church.

We define church membership to include the following commitments:

ATTENDANCE: We ask that each member of the team be committed to attending a local church.

SERVING: We require that each member of the team demonstrates a willingness to serve in their local church, both in spiritual and practical ways.

EVANGELISM: We ask that each team member be actively involved in sharing their faith with others and consistently inviting others to their local church.

GIVING: We ask that each team member be committed to financial giving within the context of their local church. We understand tithing to be giving 10% of one’s real world income to their local church (separate to offerings to mission, other ministries, charitable giving etc).

CHARACTER

We require that team members demonstrate growth, maturity and the character of Christ. It is vital that team members show a commitment to grow and are open to correction in these areas.

WALK OF PURITY & INTEGRITY

We require our team members to have a strong commitment to walk in sexual purity and to both abstain from sin and the appearance of evil.

BOUNDARIES

We require that our team members make a strong commitment to maintain correct ministerial boundaries in the following areas:

We ask that any member of this team commit to not organize or participate in christian events within 15 miles of their local church without first discussing this with the leadership of their church.

We ask that members of this team do not engage in ministry with those who have left their local church due to disputes, character issues or church disciplinary matters.

DOCTRINE

We ask that members of this team commit to walk within the doctrinal statement of this team (available online).

When given the opportunity to teach/preach it is vital that team members are operating on the same page concerning doctrine, beliefs and practices.

If you have any questions or areas that you would like to clarify please do not hesitate to contact our office.
